The first 7” single + CD by Helvettes, a band led by TV from Swankys along with members of Lydia Cats, and Gismo who was a member of Swankys in the 2000s. The music is pure Kyushu punk in the traditional style, fuzzy guitar and all 70s punk rock and rocknroll influences. The opening track of the single brings the same immediate rush you get listening to the Swankys, but Helvettes have their own feel, and rather than the core feeling a bit more like the Sex Pistols, I sense a lot of natural similarities with even more dynamic punk like The Damned. The 7” comes with a full 12 track CD album, and if you enjoy Swankys, Kyushu Punk, or 70s punk in general, this comes with the highest possible recommendation, and a no brainer as it left me kind of speechless as to how great it was.
